I took my FPV quadcopter (see my previous post about the build details) out for a bit of racing. Besides for looking awesome, we are using the 3W ledstrips from Hobbyking to make the drones more visible for each other (The FPV goggles don’t have HD-spec resolution, without the lights, we can’t see each other from a distance).


During these race sessions I have collectively shredded hundreds of propellors, the frame however is is surprisingly still intact after dozens of crashes against trees, bushes, light poles and other quadcopters… Unfortunately after another session of racing, an epic close encounter with a tree caused the drone to be a bit bashed, back to repair station!
